Read on for details of the 'BIG ideas' competition, now open to all current UCD students. Can you convey your idea in a simple and unique(!) way through a video?🎥 There's €100 for the winner and €60 for the runner-up!

THE GREAT WEXFORD SHORT STORY CONTEST is open to all primary school children in County Wexford.

Over the next twelve weeks, we will run weekly short story contests with cash prizes and then announce the overall winners at the end.

Weekly prizes: 1st prize €50, 2nd prize €30 and 3rd prize €20

Overall winners: 1st prize €500, 2nd prize €300 and 3rd prize €200

There are also prizes of vouchers for Red Books for every child who enters all 12 weeks of the contest!

We know how hard it is for kids to beat the boredom at the minute so hopefully this will give them a boost.

We will give you a topic each week to base your story on. We will have weekly winners and the first prize stories each week will go forward to a grand final with fabulous cash prizes!

The prompt for week 1 is "Yes kids," Mammy said "We are definitely lost."

Please email entries to thegreatcontest@brownefireprotection.ie before 2pm on Friday. Winners will be announced over the weekend.
