***Virtual Fundraising***

We’ve been amazed by the #StayatHome movement across the country, and are so proud of how we’re all embracing this ‘new normal’ and supporting our frontline teams and each other during these tough times.

The Mental Health Ireland team are all working from home, and this has given us time to explore new ways our supporters can have fun with family and friends fundraising from their own homes!

Like many charities, our traditional fundraisers have been put on ice for the time being.

However, we’re LOVING the sound of Virtual or Live Stream Fundraising using platforms like Youtube, Facebook Live, Twitch, Zoom & Houseparty in association with our JustGiving, EveryDayHero and Facebook pages. Did you know you can also add a DONATE button to your Instagram stories too? Winner!!

Here are some of our fundraising pages -

JUSTGIVING: https://www.justgiving.com/mentalhealth-ie
EVERYDAYHERO: https://nfp.everydayhero.com/ie/mentalhealthireland
FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/fund/Mental.Health.Ireland/

An example idea is to have a ‘Pub Quiz’ via the Houseparty App. Prior to the event, you set up your JustGiving, Facebook or EveryDayHero Page and ask people to pay an ‘entrance fee’. You can even add fun extras and ‘buy a treat’.

Some other ideas we like the sound of -
- Coffee Morning or Bake Sale: Entrance fee.
- Fitness Class or Yoga/Pilates: Pay per class.
- Challenge your friends to a push up, hula-hoop or keepy-uppy competition!
- Tutoring sessions, for example French or Music lessons: Pay per class.

We’re all ears for your ideas too. Now’s the time to get creative!!

All of these ideas can be hosted using the various app platforms above through your phone, tablet or computer. Just remember to set up your JustGiving, EveryDay Hero or Facebook fundraiser page first and promote your idea on social media. We are on hand to help you in any way we can. We’ll also promote your event via our social media channels and website.

Of course, you can also support Mental Health Ireland by making a direct donation here: https://www.mentalhealthireland.ie/donate/

So the steps again:

1. Think of your idea - Get creative, we're all ears!!
2. Get in touch with us at fundraising@mentalhealthireland.ie
3. Set up your JustGiving, EveryDayHero, or Facebook Fundraiser Page
4. Download your preferred platform - Houseparty, Zoom, Facebook Live etc
5. Have a mega fun event whilst supporting positive mental health and recovery for everyone.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
