** UCD on-campus accommodation - revised arrangements **

Dear students,

While many students have returned home and will continue their studies at-distance, UCD still has a number of students living on campus. The University will honour the rental agreements for all students who wish to remain on campus, and encourages students to remain resident.

We will continue to support students living on campus during this crisis period and are now putting a number of arrangements in place:

1) Agreements will be extended should students be unable to return to their normal place of residence at the end of their current agreement due to COVID-19 travel restrictions.

2) Residents may be asked to move rooms in order to facilitate the best management of the residences.

3) On-campus residents who wish to give up their rental agreement will be allowed to do so, and should contact residences@ucd.ie to state their intention and to provide their cancellation form.

4) Residents must remove all personal belongings from their rooms before their departure dates. Residents who are unable to return to UCD to remove their belongings should request that their belongings be placed in storage or disposed of. The University cannot ship belongings, but will store belongings until the COVID-19 national response ends.

5) The University will rebate rent pro rata from one week after the departure date to allow for cleaning.

6) Students who are well and living in rented accommodation off campus who face housing problems because of COVID-19 eg if a landlord requires the property, may now apply for on-campus accommodation. These students should contact residenceroombooking@ucd.ie.

7) Residents who are advised to self-isolate by the HSE will be moved to specific housing to allow them to be supported by the University.

8) Residents who become unwell with COVID-19 symptoms should call the UCD Student Health Service who will assess the need for testing and refer to the HSE COVID 19 testing service if necessary.

You will receive a regular survey from Residences to help us monitor occupancy. Please complete and return these surveys.

Stay safe and well.
