Not so long ago, we spent some time getting feedback via a survey that gave us some insights into peoples reservations on marketing. Time was a big factor but what really puzzled us was the fact that some businesses "tried" marketing but it didn't work.

Their immediate reaction was to blame the website, blame the platform or blame the customer but in fact the only person to blame was their selves. They started a marketing campaign with no clear strategy, tracking not correctly configured and they ended it with no clear analysis of what happened.

If you don't have the knowledge to use a website or run a campaign then get someone who does know, to do it for you.

If something doesn't work, stop and learn why it didn't. Don't continue and make an assumption!

When you're doing marketing you need to make sure you have the knowledge to deliver a successful campaign, that you can set it up correctly, you can measure the results and you can pinpoint why it went wrong.

Marketing isn't an art, its a science, so treat it that way. Set up your campaigns as experiments, make sure data capturing is working correctly and above all, if you aren't entirely sure what you're doing reach out and ask someone!
